Glum.

I'm feeling more pessimistic than usual tonight. Jonah Goldberg*:

Hitler—who understood as well as any the importance of winning the hearts and minds of youth—once remarked, “When an opponent says ‘I will not come over to your side,’ I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already...You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing but this new community.’”

This is scary, but this feels worse. It might already be too late.

* A couple of nights ago I had a dream that I was shopping for size 3XL CC Sabathia shirts (which I am in real life--haven't seen one yet, which is odd given CC's physical size) and Jonah Goldberg was a sales guy at the mall. The only interpretation that makes any sense is "I need to get out more."
